Rebuttal & Critique

The professional code of ethics for Certified Rehabilitation Counselors requires counselors to produce unbiased, objective opinions and findings that can be substantiated by information and methodologies appropriate to the service being provided. The creditability and admissibility of an expert’s opinions rest on methodology. We review an opposing expert's report and analysis to determine if it follows the applicable standards and uses generally accepted methodology. If indicated, we provide a rebuttal report which can refute the findings of the opposing expert and establish a foundation for questioning. An expert’s opinion should be derived from reliable, objective methodology. The critique can expose weaknesses in the opposing expert’s methodology, analysis or conclusions.
